alba mercato campagna amica

Surely many of you will have already heard of Campagna Amica, the foundation founded in 2008 by Coldiretti, spread throughout Italy in order to promote the products at km 0 and thus favor the so-called short supply chain, direct sales from the producer to the consumer without intermediaries.

The will to valorize Italian agriculture and its biodiversity of products, to transmit a food awareness and respect for the environment and local traditions, to support small agricultural and agri-food businesses: these are some of the main aims of the association. The project has increasingly expanded and today the network consists of more than 7,500 farms, over 2300 agritourisms and organizes almost 1200 markets throughout the country. The markets represent the main moment for the sale of products to the consumer and the stalls as well as the aprons of the shop assistants are characterized by the yellow and green colors of Coldiretti. The latter has calculated that in 2018 almost six out of ten Italians purchased products directly from the farmer with a frequency of at least once a month. The consumer therefore has an interest in understanding where their products come from and especially in this way he also helps to support small businesses that have grown more and more in recent years. We can read in these numbers an increasingly strong focus on health, environment, territory and local economy, and an increasingly clear attempt to escape the large-scale retail trade. This model of avant-garde short chain in fact focuses on the family agriculture of the territory that manages to create wealth, employment and also an important social bond. Not bad for being such an anti-current organization!
In the province of Cuneo, the network of Campagna Amica is very present, with over 350 activities involved and six weekly markets: in Cuneo, Montà d'Alba, Ceva, Fossano, Savigliano and Alba. Even the educational farms of Campagna Amica are becoming popular and thanks to them, everyone can get to know closely the activities related to the agriculture of our territory, especially the children who are able to get closer to a world largely unknown but not so far away.
Already in 2001 the Coldiretti Cuneo had started a project similar to Campagna Amica, but with much smaller proportions, with Fattorie Amiche and at that time it had already noticed a certain positive direction towards the theme of the product at zero kilometer. Later the project has expanded and has been incorporated into the current circuit.
We as Bosco delle Galline Volanti have just joined Campagna Amica and we will start moving in this beautiful reality made by local producers, where the atmosphere is unexpectedly relaxed and friendly and people come together for a common goal. Who knows, maybe you'll meet us in one of the province's yellow-green markets ...
